THESE COLORS!
It started out slow so there was nothing done.
Protesting while fans just wanted to have fun.
Soon more joined in causing people to take note
Showing disrespect to our veteran folk.
These colors don't run nor do they take a knee.
They stand proud for those who fought for you and me.
Their NFL fans looked on in disbelief
These privileged men causing them so much grief.
They make millions to play and do their job
In other countries folks beg for food and sob.
These colors don't run nor do they take a knee.
They stand proud for those who fought for you and me.
We saw it all happen a few years ago.
Terrorists attacked and our flags all did flow
Showing our national pride for this country
Standing united in our adversity.
These colors don't run nor do they take a knee.
They stand proud for those who fought for you and me.
Finally President Trump spoke from his heart
Calling for the NFL owners to start
Saying to their team players taking a knee
'I pay you to play not protest a country!'
These colors don't run nor do they take a knee.
They stand proud for those who fought for you and me.
NFL players were sore, a sight to see
Taking a knee and like dogs having to pee!
Ranting and raving and some hiding from sight
As coaches encouraged their players to flight.
These colors don't run nor do they take a knee.
They stand proud for those who fought for you and me.
During the Anthem a bold man strong and brave
Ran out from the lockers and courage he gave.
A decorated war hero then and now
Standing with hand over heart showed them all how.
These colors don't run nor do they take a knee.
They stand proud for those who fought for you and me.
This man we do admire and the fans all cheer
This veteran is Alejandro Villanueva
NFL Jersey number seventy-eight
Standing proud for his team and country so great.
These colors don't run nor do they take a knee.
They stand proud for those who fought for you and me.
