RAINBOW MOUNTAINS!

The Rainbow Mountains of China within the Zhangye Danxia Landform Geological Park are a geological wonder of the world. These famous Chinese mountains are known for their otherworldly colors that mimic a rainbow painted over the tops of rolling mountains. Layers of different colored sandstone and minerals were pressed together over 24 million years and then buckled up by tectonic plates.       The site was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009 and is the destination for many Chinese and international tourists.
