DEDICATED To Those Separated From Their LOVE
|
Questions present themselves all throughout a life time. People are constantly forced to reassess who they are and what they mean not only to themselves, but to the world at large. This phenomenon is very common place in a society, such as the United States, where self actualization is not a far off dream, but a goal pursued with the greatest of effort. Seldom, however, is an entire society asked to reassess what it stands for and maybe more importantly, what it doesn't. America, as it stands, is truly one Nation under the ideal of justice. Americans united when asked what it was they stand for and in one unanimous voice, the nation declared that fear was not in our vocabulary, that needless bloodshed and pointless warfare were as unacceptable as they were forgone in nature. To bleed for this country was to fly a flag, light a candle or donate money, time or a friendly word here or there. This still stands true... No matter our nationality, religion, sex, age or any personal belief, we all Bleed American. To do so is the greatest testament to humanity that the Earth has ever witnessed. To Bleed American is to declare that the flag flies for more than past, that it is a symbol of greatness to come. To Bleed American is to appreciate veterans who have stood up tall and proud in wars past. To bleed American is simply to acknowledge apple pie and baseball as symbols of a Nation basked in glory. When -we- were asked to reassess who we were as a nation, as society, as a people under God, we responded, "We Bleed American, and nothing under the sun can change that." -- Philip STEVEN Verlee II |
