TALE OF TWO PENGUINS!

      Penguins are a family of 17 to 19 species of birds that live primarily in the Southern Hemisphere. They include the tiny blue penguins of Australia and New Zealand, the majestic emperor penguins of Antarctica and king penguins found on many sub- Antarctic islands, the endangered African penguin and the Galapagos penguin-the only penguin to be found north of the equator.
      The romantic ideal of finding one mate for life is primarily a human aspiration. Animals that are believed to mate for life comprise only of a handful of species - mainly birds. Penguins are among them.
      A photographer captured a poignant moment between two penguins who meet at night to comfort each other over the loss of their partners. The two widowed Fairy penguins were pictured standing 'flipper in flipper' gazing out over the twinkling Melbourne skyline in an image that has broken hearts across the world.

      Photographer Tobias Baumgaertner wrote, "During times like this the truly lucky ones are those that can be with the person/people they love most. I captured this moment about a year ago. These two Fairy penguins poised upon a rock overlooking the Melbourne skyline were standing there for hours, flipper in flipper, watching the sparkling lights of the skyline and ocean."
      "A volunteer approached me and told me that the white one was an elderly lady who had lost her partner and apparently so did the younger male to the left," Baumgaertner said. "Since then they meet regularly comforting each other and standing together for hours watching the dancing lights of the nearby city."

      He continued, writing, "I hope you enjoy this moment as much as I did."
