SHANGRALA'S

LEOPARD VS CROCODILE!

This happened at a South African game reserve in 2008 and is the first known time that a leopard has attacked and taken on such a fearsome foe! Hal Brindley an American wildlife photographer was fortunate to be at the right place at the right time and captured this stunning event.

The giant cat raced out of cover provided by scrub to
surprise the crocodile, which was swimming nearby,
and drags it out of the water as it fights back.


A terrible and bloody struggle ensued.


If the crocodile can get his jaws around
the leopard, it'll be all over for the cat!


With the crocodile snapping its powerful jaws
furiously, the two animals somersault and grapple.




Despite the reptile's huge weight and strength, the
cat gets the upper claw catching its prey by the throat.




Eventually the leopard is able to sit
on top of the crocodile and suffocate it.


Victorious, the big cat walks off with its prize.
