Eleanor Roosevelt was First Lady of the United States from 1933 to 1945. She was also an advocate for human and civil rights. She was made a delegate to the UN General Assembly and played a key role in drafting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.       Eleanor Roosevelt was a wise woman, with insightful ideas and a witty sense of humor. This empowered lady said a lot of inspiring things over her lifetime. At her death in 1962, the New York Times described her as 'more involved in the minds and hearts and aspirations of people than any other First Lady in history' and as 'one of the most esteemed women in the world.'       Few American women have been so admired at home and abroad as Eleanor Roosevelt, and few have left behind such a distinguished record of public service. Roosevelt herself referred frequently to the importance of Christianity in her daily life. She reminds us to look inside ourselves for strength but 'We do not begin to approach a solution of our problems,' she wrote, 'until we acknowledge the fact that they are spiritual.'
