DIDDI 3D DRAWINGS!

From sidewalk art made with chalk, to images in folded notebooks, we've seen a lot of creative 3D drawings in the last years, but Italian artist Alessandro Diddi has created perhaps the most believable 3D drawings that appear to leap from the page. Even with a close inspection it's hard to tell what's flat and what's not.       What makes Diddi's drawings so perfect is one major difference from other 3D artists: he goes outside the page.       In the hand drawing above, we're convinced it's actually reaching out to us and offering up a gold ring but what clinches the illusion is the fact that the thumb is jumping off the side of the page. If you look really close at his drawings you can see the level of perfection and planning that went into each design - many of those elements coming off the page follow the subtle fold of the paper and reveal that they are, in fact, completely flat.

      The 42 year old said: 'I want my drawings to put across
the message that the eye can trick the mind and make you
believe that there are dimensions that are not really there.'
