Welcome, come on in! The documentary 'New Coasters Push Thrills, and the Body, to the Limit'
on National Geographic got me wondering about this amazing ride. People who ride roller coasters are like our little road runner. Just having fun!
Here's a sampling of what I found available at our various theme and amusement parks around the USA. Enjoy :)
Storm Runner - Hershey Park, PA.
What's it like? "This one-of-a-kind coaster will launch you
from 0-72 mph in 2 seconds flat. 18 stories straight up, straight down. And that's just the
beginning. You'll fly through a 135 foot cobra loop, barrel rolls, and a dramatic flying snake
dive so fast, you won't know which way is which!
Lightening Racer - Hershey Park, PA.
The first wooden racing/dueling coaster in the United States:
Great Bear Coaster - Hershey Park, PA.
Great Bear, as you see, is an "inverted" coaster: you
ride suspended from the track. Says the Hersheypark site: "The ride starts by lifting you 90
feet off the ground. It will then speed up to 61 miles per hour (nearly a mile a minute) as
it rips down the tracks, through a loop then into what is called an immelman - a loop that
turns you out at the top and then drops you like a falling star! Then you will cross the
SOOPERDOOPERLOOPER [another coaster], make an "S" turn before returning to earth."
Led Zeppelin - Hard Rock Park in Myrtle Beach, SC
This coaster is under construction - opening 4/2008.
Ascending over 150 feet into the sky, this iconic looping, steel roller coaster will feature a
high fidelity on-board audio system that soars to Led Zeppelin's hit single "Whole Lotta Love,"
creating an unprecedented sensory experience for riders.
New York New York Manhattan Express - Las Vegas
New York New York roller coaster is a joy ride! It climbs to 200
feet before it drops 144 feet while speeding up to 67 mph. The roller coaster, called Manhattan
Express is famous for its "heartline" twist and dive maneuver. It simulates a barrel roll in
a jet fighter by rolling 180 degrees. Then, it hangs 86 feet in the air, giving new meaning
to the words 'leaves you in suspense' - Suddenly, it dives back under itself!
Batman the Ride - Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, TX.
Batman The Ride coaster ascends 105 feet into the sky, has 5 inversions and a G force of 4 giving
riders the super thrill they expect from a super hero ride!
Rock 'n' Roller - Disney MGM Studios
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
is one of Disney's more exhilarating rides. This extreme coaster is teamed with the exciting
sound of America's legendary rock band, Aerosmith, creating a high-speed thrill ride that
will literally rock 'n' roll guests. Located near The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror on
Sunset Boulevard, Guests board a limo that accelerates at five Gs as they head to the first
upside down loop on the track. By comparison, astronauts aboard the Space Shuttle experience
only three Gs at liftoff!
Incredible Hulk - Universal Studios Orlando, FL.
The Hulk coaster
ascends 110 feet into the sky and has 105 foot drops, 7 inversions, and 4Gs maximum acceleration
of 0-40 in 2 seconds. That along with it's cool green track partially built over water and
illuminating Hulk green at night should thrill any rider fan!
Wile E. Coyote's Grand Canyon Blaster - Six Flags Over Texas.
Looney Tunes USA located near the front gate area of the park, beams with vibrant presentations based on
the beloved Time Warner Looney Tunes cartoon characters including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck,
Sylvester, and Tweety.

Top Thrill Dragster - Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH
The Top Thrill Dragster ascends 420 feet
into the sky dropping 400 foot. Reaching speeds of 120 mph with the acceleration at 0-120 mph
in 4 seconds! Oh-Yeah - Say good bye to your tummy!
Firehawk - Kings Island in Kings Mills, OH
Kings Island celebrates its 35th anniversary in 2007 by soaring to new heights with its 14th
roller coaster, Firehawk. Debuting Memorial Day Weekend, this innovative flying coaster
propels willing test pilots 115 feet in the air and through five inversions at speeds of
more than 50 mph - all while facing the ground, experiencing the inconceivable feeling of
human flight. Firehawk joins a portfolio of 13 award-winning, industry-leading roller coasters
including The Beast (the world's longest wooden coaster), Son of Beast (the world's tallest
and fastest wooden coaster), Flight of Fear (the world's first coaster with LIM launch
technology), Vortex (the country's first six-inversion coaster) and Rugrat's Runaway Reptar
