CHRISTMAS TIME!

The manger in which the newborn Jesus was laid, is not as we imagined it to be. The manger in Bethlehem, the temporary cradle, was actually a manger cut from stone.       In the ancient Land of Israel, animal troughs were not made of wood. Limestone was much more plentiful in ancient Israel than lumber. Anything that could be made from it, was.       The manger - the feeding/water trough - was a sign of what Jesus came to do. He came to offer himself as bread for our souls. He came to satisfy a hunger that could not be satisfied any other way.       "And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst." ~John 6:35 KJV
