CHAPEL WITH HUMAN BONE ART!


      The town of Kutna Hora owes its origin to the silver mines which gained importance during the economic boom of the 13th century.
      Its graveyard Chapel of All Saints (also known as Bone Church or Ossuary Chapel in Sedlec) from the end of the 14th century was rebuilt in baroque style by J. B. Santini. It was decorated entirely with human bones which were arranged into pyramids by a half-blind monk in 1511.
      Nowadays this ossuary in Sedlec contains approximately 40,000 human skeletons which have been artistically arranged to form decorations and furnishings for the chapel.
      The chapel can be visited during the Ossuary Tour - guided tour from Prague to Kutna Hora and back.
